ASEPEC General Assembly 2024: A Step Forward in the Digital Transformation of Spain.
On April 9th, the General Assembly of ASEPEC , the Association of Trust Service Providers of Spain, was held both in person at the Association’s headquarters in Madrid and via videoconference.
The presentation of the 2023 Annual Accounts provided a great opportunity for member providers, such as Víntegris, to share live updates and impressions on the upcoming changes facing the trust services sector.
New Members and Greater Representation
This year, ASEPEC welcomes ten new members, expanding its reach to represent 45% of the qualified Security Service Providers (SSPs) sector in Spain. These new entities include both electronic trust service providers and other organizations linked to the sector, strengthening the network and collective capabilities.
The president of the Association, Ramiro Muñoz, highlighted the importance of ASEPEC in coordinating with the Supervisor and its growing representation in the sector of qualified and non-qualified providers, as well as the essential role that providers play in the process of digitization of society.
With emerging regulatory challenges and the launch of initiatives such as eIDAS2 , NIS2 , and the EUDI Wallet , service providers are positioning themselves at the forefront of digital transformation. These developments not only present challenges but also significant opportunities to innovate and improve services, ensuring that Spanish providers remain a benchmark in the European landscape.
Active Participation for a Promising Future
All members were encouraged to actively participate in working groups, fostering a unique collaborative environment for strategic decisions to address market changes.
Finally, ASEPEC invites entities and organizations in the sector to join forces and face common challenges, find more effective solutions and, ultimately, promote the sustainable development of the electronic trust services industry in our country.
